During late 2022 there was a challenge going around TTRPG social medias called “City23”, where writers would take on a daily writing challenge to flesh out a single city over the course of the next year. I decided to focus on the city of Joltayi, a location in my ongoing fantasy world project of Vendaron. While I wasn’t able to fully keep up it was still a great challenge, ending up with about 15,000 words of worldbuilding. I used the program Obsidian as my base for the project, taking advantage of its back-link capabilities to tie stories together across the city.
The Central District
One of the restriction of the project was to create a new district of the city every month, for a total of 12 by the end. This is an overview of the first of these districts including descriptions of the people of the area and their general attitude.
Iron Will Forge
Each week focused on an individual point within that month’s district, with the daily writing fleshing out the chosen place. The Iron Will Forge comes from the third district developed, and includes information on the people and rumors involved with it.
