Background

This has been a fairly cold summer in Minneshaw, with highs barely into the 60s and lows dropping all the way down to the 30s. People are bundling up to walk through the town, and those hoping for a summer of relaxing barbecues and tanning at the beach have been severely disappointed. It has also been extremely windy, with strong gusts causing many of the classic summer celebrations, including the fair, to be pushed back.

The Incident

The players all made up to meet at Seaspray Coffee and Cafe for a quick bite before planning out their day. When they get there, they see a large crowd gathered around the beach, looks of horror across their faces. Pushing through the crowd, they see Jake Leeman dead on the beach with the worst case of frostbite anyone in town has seen. Finger blackened and frozen, limbs covered in blue ice, face locked in a look of terror and pain.

Things to Note

– Jake’s hair is blown wildly and frozen almost straight up

– It looks like his hands are reaching for his ears

– He isn’t fully covered in ice
